You are absolutely right. I have a friend from Viet Nam and he is always asking me why we stand and sing the national anthem before a ball game, he says the concept of mass conformity is so not the way he thinks of free-thinking Americans. As a woman, this country has not been great since I was born, and the same is true for many others. Great article
